Facing outlook problem

I am not able to check emails in outlook

by Oscar100
Hello I have an exchange mail account with my company. Is there anyway I can get Outlook to auto forward messages from my inbox to external addresses. I can easily get it to forward to to other addresses on the exchange using a rule but external ones don't work for some reason. Does anyone no of any way that this can be done. Many thanks Oscar100

Contact your IT department to determine if they have restricted your account from these functions. This is a normal IT configuration and I have been responsible for email security where my company too, did not allow but certain personnel from auto-forwarding. Note: auto forwarding could be dangerous at times. If the rule applied is met by an email that was sent by accident or error then it would be forwarded out even if it should have never left your firm.

After i purchased pc i set up a dial up internet connection with orange. For the last year i have had broadband NTL.My problem is i cannot use outlook and never have been able to.It is somehow linked to my old orange dial up account.I have tried to create a new a/c etc but nothing seems to work and i am still getting error messages when trying to send email.

It probably has the old orange account as the default. If you no longer use it, delete it. Cheers 🙂

This is an odd one. I have a PC running Outlook 2003 connecting to a Mail server (MS exchange). When I open up outlook and create a new message everything is ok. If I open a new message, enter an address then type my keyboard goes screwy. @ becomes ", $ and £ move and € disapeares compleately. any messages I try to send from then on have this problem. However, if I close outlook and re-open it I is OK again. Can anyone help?

I suspect that you have a fastkey option to switch between regional settings in Windows, and that you are triggering the switch when entering the address in Outlook - the @ key is implicated here... If you have no need of a US keyboard layout (this is what it sounds like), then it would be best to disable it. Control Panel - Regional & Language Options - Languages - Details... Remove any you don't want, or change the hotkey to switch between them. Good Luck!

I set up a meeting in outlook (and a Livemeeting) last week to run tomorrow between 12:30 and 2PM BST. Now for some reason it is not showing in my calendar even though others can see it. If the other recipients forward the meeting to me and I try clicking on Accept it tells me that I do not need to do this as the meeting organiser...but the meeting is still not showing in my calendar. Can someone see if they can work out what is wrong as this is an important meeting and at the moment I'm not sure who has the invite, whether i will be able to join the live meeting etc...

unless you put yourself as an attendee it will not show on your calendar, only you as the organizer. You have to include yourself as a meeting attendee for it to be on your calendar, otherwise it's a meeting for someone else, not you. I made that mistake myself.

For some reason, the way in which my outlook attches files has changed. It has stoped putting the attchments in a bar at the top of the email and has started inbeding them into the body of the email instead. how do I change this back to attach files in a seperate bar at the top of the email? Many thanks Oscar100

u r using the basic (i.e. text) as default and HTML. Go to the tools and set the setting of default mail format as HTML. it will solve the issue. Cheers, Neo.

One of my colleagues complained that when someone ( other user from his PC) makes a new entry into her calendar ( Outlook 2003) she doesn’t receive an email notification which is annoying as she could miss something important unless she checked her calendar manually. Any ideas how to fix this issue. Any advice will be much appreciated.

hi - you cannot send yourself an email when creating an entry into your own calendar. If you have granted access for other users to create entries on your behalf, this is still applicable. You can however use the reminder option when creating an entry to remind you of the appointment / meeting. The user creating the appointment on your behalf will need to set this. Hope this helps
